On Sunday, a few of us took an easy hike up the mountain to the Tibetan Buddhist monastery, Karma Triyana Dharmachakra. The hardest part of the trip was when the path through the woods spit us out onto the road where the steepest incline was on hot pavement– good thing we’re tough! Our efforts were rewarded when, after not long on the road, we saw prayer flags blowing in the wind. The monastery was beautiful. We spent some time sitting bare-footed and cross-legged under high, painted ceilings. Peaceful and mind-clearing, it was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
