4th of July

The Byrdcliffe Artists in Residence program had a wonderful evening on the 4th of July, thanks to our gracious hosts Byron and Susan Bell. Though best known as an architect- he designed and built his home, Byron is a man of many talents; he is also a painter, a pianist, and a potter (among other things, we’re sure).  Byron’s wife, Susan, is a major collector and documenter of indigenous craft art from all around the world. We enjoyed pizza, wine, a delicious and festive pie, a dip in the waterfall, a gorgeous view of fireworks across the Hudson Valley, and some even went for a ride in the canoe on his pond!
